This workshop provides, medical, substance abuse and mental health professionals with informtion that will assist them in identifying and assess the needs and concerns of domestic violence victims.

Participants will explore:

Dynamics of power and control which influence violence in relationships
Justifications used to excuse battering behaviors and a continuum of violence
Effects of victimization on the victim(s) and others
Clinical assessments
Safety planning and interventions that may improve the safety of the victim and identifies local community services
