This course has been developed to specifically meet the needs and interests of mental health professionals. Participants will engage in a dialogue about the applicability of root cause analysis and error prevention in a variety of mental health practice settings.
This continuing education course satisfies the requirements imposed by the 2001 Florida State Legislature mandatig a 2-hour continuing educaiton course relateing to the prevention of medical errors as part of the licensure and renewal process for all health and mental health professionals.
Participants will:
- Be able to define and apply root cause analysis to their work
- Identify error reduction and prevention strategies applicable to mental health and social service populations
- Learn the benefits of focusing on patient safety
